FC Platinum To Train At Barbourfields Stadium Today As Clash With Orlando Pirates Looms

Reigning Castle Lager Premier Soccer League club, FC Platinum is today set to hold its first training session at Barbourfields Stadium ahead of their Total Caf Champions League Group B opener at the same venue on Saturday.

The club’s public relations officer Chido Chizondo told The Chronicle on Tuesday that:

We get to feel our home turf, Barbourfields, tomorrow.

The FC Platinum team is made up of ten former Highlanders players. The list is made up of Mkhokheli Dube, Charles Sibanda, Rainsome Pavari, Perfect Chikwende, Lawrence Mhlanga, William Stima, Kelvin Madzongwe, Rahman Kutsanzira, Thomas Chideu as well as Edmore Chirambadare.

The Zvishavane-based club was forced to abandon its base by ZIFA after the soccer body considered that Mandava Stadium did not meet the minimum standards to host a CAF Champions League group game.

FC Platinum clash with South African giants Orlando Pirates on Januay 12 in the firts leg of their Group B double header.

Gate charges have been hiked which will see the cheapest ticket going for $5 for the rest of the ground with those who will be at the wings set to part with $10 while VIP comfort.
