A Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services (ZPCS) officer based in Mutare was slapped with an $80 fine after being found guilty of stealing goods worth $40 dollars from an OK supermarket.
The officer, identified as Moses Muchenje (40), of Destiny, Natview Park, pleaded guilty to theft when he appeared last week before magistrate Tendai Mahwe.
The court heard that all the goods, valued at $40 were recovered. The goods included soap, margarine, mayonnaise, washing powder, rice, sugar and popcorn.
