The MDC led by Advocate Nelson Chamisa has sought for South African President Cyril Ramaphosa’s help in mediating between the party and ZANU PF.
Chamisa recently met with Ramaphosa in South Africa soon after the release of the Motlanthe Commission report. Concerning the meeting, Chamisa tweeted
A few days ago I had a fruitful meeting in Pretoria with my distinguished brother and fountain of wisdom the president of the Republic of South Africa His Excellency Cyril Ramaphosa on a wide range of urgent and important issues regarding the well being of the people of Zim.
In an interview with Business Day, MDC spokesperson Jacob Mafume said that they had to approach Ramaphosa in order to reach out to Mnangagwa. Said Mafume
The economic and political crisis in Zimbabwe is worsening and what is important is that this affects our neighbouring countries, particularly South Africa. We feel that Zimbabwe is becoming a regional security threat because of the failure by Mnangagwa’s government to solve the political stalemate over his illegitimacy.
The economic crisis has the effect of causing a burden to South Africa owing to the exodus of people that are fleeing the worsening economy. Mnangagwa has refused to listen to our concerns, so we felt it was better for us to meet President Ramaphosa to listen to our concerns and also to relay our message to Mnangagwa.
The people of Zimbabwe continue to suffer, and as a party that was voted for by millions of people, we will do what we can to offer solutions.

President ED Mnangagwa stretched his hand to Chamisa. He clearly stated that during his inauguration speech but Chamisa like a small kid chose the demonstrations way. If he was serious in engagement he shouldn’t have wasted time and entered into dialogue there and then what has changed now.
Why doesn’t the MDC explain exactly what are their concerns and stop the pretense of mixing politics and economics. Are they concerned about his legitimacy, or his economic policies.? If its his legitimacy, he’s already given them his answer to their message – get stuffed. If its economics, why not tell us all what the MDC’s plan is to save us? If they make it public in Zim – instead of private in RSA – Mnangagwa is sure to hear about it from someone.
Even better – why not just shut up and stop displaying your immaturity.
PS – I do not support ZANU PF in any way at all.
These guys have shown they love Zimbabwe indeed otherwise by now they would have been swallowed by ZANU PF a long time ago. I now sympathize with them.
I thought the last time I heard Mr Chamisa on this topic was like he won’t talk to The Croc and the only thing he will disc use is the taking over of State House and nothing less. Did I hear him correctly? Now what does he want to talk to him about? Does he recognise him as Prezy now or what? If he wants to talk to him, then he want to talk to him as Who and the Croc as What?
