Parirenyatwa hospital is currently turning away the sick due the ongoing Doctors’ strike. Nurses at Parirenyatwa told a ZBC crew that they could not admit patients in the absence of doctors who are responsible for assessing the patient’s condition for admission.
The strike, which was initially by junior doctors only worsened this week when senior doctors joined in following the suspension of the junior doctors by the government. The Health Services Board, which suspended the junior doctors, said they are in the process of meeting with doctors under the Zimbabwe Medical Association to find solutions.
