Chamisa Ally Threatened To Shoot Mwonzora, 220 Party Districts Recommend Mudzuri’s Expulsion- Herald Report

The Herald reports that Nelson Chamisa is set to preside over two high-level meetings today in a bid to have his deputy, Elias Mudzuri, expelled. The State owned publication says at least 220 party districts have resolved to have Mudzuri fired ahead of next year’s party congress for harbouring presidential ambitions.

The Herald said sources within the party said deputy treasurer and Kuwadzana East Member of Parliament Mr Chalton Hwende allegedly threatened to shoot party secretary-general Mr Douglas Mwonzora. When contacted for a comment by the publication, Mwonzora said he could not recall such an incident. The Herald quotes one source saying:

It is end of the road for (Mr) Mudzuri. The president (Mr Chamisa) is going for broke and the process of eliminating his rivals has begun in earnest. (Mr) Mudzuri is the first target and (Mr) Mwonzora is likely to follow. Remember (Mr) Hwende threatened to kill (Mr) Mwonzora and it is becoming clear that the Chamisa camp is worried about the inroads that (Mr) Mwonzora has been making in the race for the party’s top job.

The Herald quotes another source saying Mudzuri is being used as a warning to Mwonzora. A national executive and national council meeting, will be held at the party’s Harvest House headquarters.

NO. we may not agree in the party but that should not lead to acrimony. if we are the alternative gvt yet we behave as sheep when approached by a lion then we may be the same in gvt. The aftermath of every election is splits, whats wrong with you our leaders. Do you lose you head atter evry election. we cannot in a million years undo zanupf if we behave like this. Put your act together umwe neumwe ngaabate pfuti yake oishandisa till we liberate the pple of Zim. You are all brilliant leaders but surely you cannot lead at the same.time. taking the law in own hands is a game of wild emotional outbursts whichcould trun costly. maturity is needed at all times, especially in party ranks and other institutions where one has a very distinct standing, in a nutshell wisdom should just reign ….also identify the priority issue of the time and not just ride on any tide..
