Zanu-PF youth have threatened to hold a clean-up campaign on the same day as MDC’s planned demonstration.
Some believe this is a counter attraction that will only serve as a stage for violent clashes. Zanu-PF’s youth league secretary Pupurai Togarepi said they will not hesitate to take the law into their own hands in defence of the party’s property from opposition supporters whom they termed “thugs” and “hoodlums.” Said Togarepi:
In view of the impending demonstration by ‘thugs’ and ‘stupids’, we would like to encourage the general citizenry and the business community to safeguard their property against the merchants of violence who engineered the same on 1 August 2018. On its party, the league will safeguard the property against any harm. Any attempt to destroy property belonging to the party will not be taken lightly.

They need to seek police clearance first. Why do they always try to counter everything done by mdca? Who are they representing here in Harare? They want to cause violence and am sure they should leave pple to demonstrate peacefully. Gone are e days to do such unthinkable actions.
A people centered government should not allow a conflicting situation like this to build up. While each has cause ZANU PF always has all the time to do all they want and with due respect should alow the demonstartion to proceed I reckon it both short, long term benefits for All Zimbabweans and Africans… abrasiveness and strangeness never at all works but raises alarm and great distrust.
