Power Cuts Responsible For Water Unavailability In Harare: Council Spokesperson

Harare City Council (HCC) is said to be experiencing intermittent power cuts in the past few days. The power cuts have reportedly affected operations at both Morton Jaffray (MJ) which supplies Harare and Prince Edward water treatment works which supply Chitungwiza with water. As a result, several suburbs have gone for several days without water. HCC spokesperson Michael Chideme had this to say

We are currently experiencing electricity challenges at MJ. The started on Wednesday but was briefly resolved. We lost nine hours of water treatment due to it.
