Bulawayo Man Arrested For Selling Donkey Meat To Pumula Residents

A suspected donkey-meat seller was arrested in Bulawayo after allegedly selling the meat to unsuspecting residents in Puluma. The suspect is said to have stolen the donkey, slaughtered it and sold it under the guise of beef. Some residents were reportedly suspicious because of the low price of the ‘beef’. A resident who spoke to Newsday said

The meat did not look like beef to me, and it was being sold at a cheaper price compared to the meat in the butcheries, hence I did not buy although others did.

Police confirmed the incident. Bulawayo acting police spokesperson Inspector Abednego Ncube had this to say

Thulani Ncube stole a donkey worth two thousand dollars at St Peter’s and sold it to St Peters residents.
