Revival Of Cold Storage Company To Boost Livestock Production
The Cold Storage Company Limited is set to be revived by a British investor. The Company engages in procuring, processing, and marketing beef, lamb, goat, and related products in Zimbabwe. Its resuscitation is expected to boost livestock production in the country as farmers will not need to engage middlemen. Speaking to ZBC News, CSC Chief Executive Officer Mr Ngoni Chinogaramombe had this to say
We will resuscitate the ranches which we have around the country, the canning plant…farmers will be having the opportunity of dealing directly with CSC. The problem is that they have been dealing with middlemen which have been a menace in the industry for a long time. So CSC will revert to what it has been doing in the 80s and 90s where farmers have been selling directly to CSC.
