The alleged conflict between MDC president Nelson Chamisa on one hand, and his deputy Elias Mudzuri and secretary general Douglas Mwonzora on the other resulted from the apology issued by the later to Chief Justice Malaba. The duo is said to have apologised on behalf of MDC for the rowdy behaviour displayed by MDC MPs during the official opening of the Eighth Parliament in September. They reportedly did that without Chamisa’s knowledge or approval. Newsday source claimed
Mudzuri and Mwonzora apologised to the CJ, but this without Chamisa’s blessing and he is very angry with it. The issue was further complicated by Speaker of Parliament Jacob Mudenda officially noting the apology, but then requesting it in writing at a meeting of the Standing Orders and Rules Committee.
