The Warriors lost 1-0 to Liberia in an AFCON Qualifier match played on Sunday.
Liberia’s William Jebor scored the only goal in the 71st minute. Zimbabwe dominated the first half with Marvelous Nakamba winning more balls on the midfield. They created some good chances with Tinotenda Kadewere failing to score after getting two good opportunities. Liberia also made some attacks but never brought any threat towards keeper Edmore Sibanda as the defence remained disciplined.
Zimbabwe is still with a chance to qualify for 2019 Afcon finals in Cameroon if we avoid complacency in our final game against Congo at home. We regret missed chances and the technical team should work on that in our next game.
