Gweru City Mayor Blames Saboteurs For Water Woes

City of Gweru mayor Josiah Makumbe suggested that there is a hidden hand responsible for water shortages being experienced in the city. Gweru has in the past week experienced a debilitating water crisis with whole suburbs going for days without water. Makumbe reportedly said

I am worried and disturbed about the water situation. I have taken my management to task about this issue. It looks like there is sabotage taking place. The statements I am getting from the technical staff are far from convincing. We will do all it takes to take action against those responsible.
