War Vets Demands That Mnangagwa Fires Corrupt ZANU PF Officials

War veterans met President Emmerson Mnangagwa on Saturday and demanded that he fires senior party officials and Obert Mpofu, ZANU PF party’s secretary for administration, in particular. They accuse him of being corrupt. The war veterans contend that senior party officials are undermining Mnangagwa’s efforts to turn the economy around due to their corrupt activities. A Daily News source reportedly said

We met with the president, all the war veterans’ provincial chairpersons attended the meeting including our spokesperson Douglas Mahiya, who was the most senior member… We gave the president that petition asking him to relieve people like Mpofu of their duties and he listened to our grievances and promised to look into them.
