FC Platinum Targets CAF Champs League Group Stage

Zimbabwe Castle Lager Premier Soccer League Champions FC Platinum are targetting reaching the group stages of the African Champions League. In the previous edition, Platinum failed to reach the group stages after losing to Clube’ Deportivo de Agosto of Angola. The CAF Champions League is the most lucrative inter-club competition in Africa and the last edition was won by Esperance of Tunisia after beating Egyptian giants Al Ahly over a week ago. FC Platinum chairperson Evans Mtombeni had this to say

Obviously, our guys gained experience, for all the games we played after the Champions League’s failure in March, definitely, the boys have come out strong…  After the Premiero de Agosto games, the guys came out sharper, and from our assessment, they are doing things better than eight months ago… So, definitely, we expect a better show this time around. This is our fourth time participating in CAF competitions. We cannot continue falling at the preliminary stage. Just to play two matches of that stage is not desirable.
