Bulawayo Deputy Mayor Gives in To Party Pressure and Steps Down

The deputy mayor of Bulawayo Tinashe Kambarami quit his position yesterday. This follows the position taken by his party, MDC Alliance which had been calling for him to step aside. Kambarami’s appointment had been marred by controversy as his party insisted that proper procedure was not followed. He had been holding the post for two months after beating ward 1 councillor Mlandu Ndlovu who had been the party’s preferred choice for the post. MDCA Bulawayo provincial chairperson, Gift Banda confirmed that Kambarami had indeed stepped aside. He said

Yes, he has finally stepped down.

And then they complain when ZANU PF do the same thing in the elections?
