BREAKING: Zimbabwe Has Discovered Oil, Not The Chinhoyi Joke This Time It Seems

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has just announced that oil reserves have been discovered in Zimbabwe. The president has announced this through a press release which has been posted on Twitter by the Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services.

The discovery was by Australian company, INVICTUS using data generated by Mobil in the 1990’s the president said. The oil fields are in the Muzarabani area.

  1. I hope its not true. God forbid.Look at what happened with the diamonds in Manicaland. These resources should be discovered when we have better people to run the country

  2. It would seem as though this is a desperate attempt by govt to inspire confidence in the dying economy. Why would a whole President call a presser to announce the discovery of a resource prior to exploration finalization. If it’s true that’s good news indeed.
