UPDATED: Zuva, Glow Service Stations Lose Trading Licences For Overcharging Fuel

The Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting announced on Twitter that Zuva Service Stations have lost their trading licences for charging fuel above the recommended price.

It is not clear which service stations lost their licences but Energy and Power Development Minister Joram Gumbo said Glow Petroleum had three of its service stations shut down for overcharging. Said Gumbo:

Overcharging was the main reason for closing those service stations. ZERA regulates the prices of diesel and petrol and if you overcharge you get disciplined. This is really what happened. They got punished because they were charging above the recommended prices.

On Twitter the Ministry of Information said:

Update:

The Ministry of Information has since apologised for stating that Zuva Petroleum has its licence revoked.  The Ministry said the information was released in error and that it meant to say that the service stations in question belonged to Glow Petroleum.
