Zanu-PF Members Are Free To Ask Mnangagwa About Economy - Obert Mpofu

Zanu-PF’s secretary for administration Obert Mpofu has said that all party members are free to raise questions about the economy at the party’s upcoming politburo and central committee meetings. This follows reports that some Zanu-PF officials want President Emmerson Mnangagwa to answer questions about the state of the economy as their constituents are blaming Zanu-PF for the recent economic crisis. In the past few weeks, prices have been going up and there is a shortage of basic goods in the shops.

Speaking to NewsDay, Obert Mpofu said,

If they want answers, they can raise the issues at the meeting. That is the purpose of the meetings and that is where people are allowed to deliberate on issues of concern and if they have those issues, they are free to raise them. It may not necessarily be on the agenda, but if they mentioned that to you, we will listen to what they have to say…Zanu PF is a very democratic party and our President is a listening President and listens to everything that members raise and that they know. If there are issues that they want to raise to the attention of the party, I am sure this is the opportunity that they have.
