Shupikai Vito (49) appeared before Harare Magistrate Rumbidzai Mugwagwa facing charges of defaulting on maintenance payments. Vito has maintenance arrears of $125 946.97 after he allegedly failed to pay 50 percent of his two children’s school fees since 2008. Vito is alleged to have failed to make a single payment towards his children’s education in defiance of a 2008 High Court order instructing him to pay half of his children’s fees.
Magistrate Mugwagwa released Vito on free bail and remanded him to the 7th of November 2018.
