Perm Sec In Mnangagwa’s Office Swindled Of $15 000 Attempting To Get Cash

Permanent Secretary in the Office of the President and Cabinet, Sylvester Maunganidze was swindled of $15 000 in May this year while attempting to get cash. Maunganidze gave his employee Simbabrashe Muzambirwa his bank card and the pin code after Muzambirwa claimed he could get cash from his connections at various retail shops such as N. Richards, OK Zimbabwe and Pick n Pay. Maunganidze instructed Muzambirwa to get $3 000 but later got messages that $15 000 had been removed from his account. The Permanent Secretary told the court that after making a police report Muzambirwa was arrested and released on the same day with no charges being pressed against him.

Tariro Duncan (30) an Ecocash agent was arrested after she allegedly convinced Muzambirwa to give her the bank card and the pin code so that she could get cash for him. She allegedly transferred the $15 000 and shared it with her accomplices, who are yet to be arrested. Magistrate Learn more Mapiye postponed the trial to November 2.
