Pambuka, Maziwisa Billed ZPC For News Stories That ZBC Was Publishing – Tazzen Mandizvidza

Editor in Chief at the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Cooperation (ZBC), Tazzen Mandizvidza seemingly nailed former ZBC news anchor Oscar Pambuka and former Zanu-PF Highfield West National Assembly representative Psychology Maziwisa when he testified against them. Mandizvidza told the court that the pair billed the Zimbabwe Power Company (ZPC) for news stories that the state-owned broadcaster was already covering. Said Mandizvidza,

No arrangement was made to bill ZPC. I would not understand why ZPC would have been billed since it was a government diary. It is not proper for people to pay for stories to be published on ZBC…For all news stories covered, they were covered as a mandate of the news and current affairs department to broadcast them as news happening in the country.

Pambuka and Maziwisa are accused of duping the Zimbabwe Power Company (ZPC) of over $12 000 after claiming to have done publicity work. The trial is ongoing.
