President Emmerson Mnangagwa and his Cabinet Ministers today received cholera oral vaccines. According to the Ministry of Information, the ministers received the vaccines in order to demonstrate that the vaccines are safe. Minister of Health and Child Care, Obadiah Moyo carried out the vaccinations.
The government has embarked on a programme to vaccinate people against the disease ahead of the rainy season as there are concerns that the rains will increase the risk of people contracting the disease. At least 50 people have died from a Cholera outbreak which the government designated a state of emergency.
