Police Asked For Army's Help: Matemadanda Explains Soldiers' Presence At Roadblocks

 

Deputy Minister of Defence and War Veterans Victor Matemadanda has said that its necessary for the soldiers to be present at police roadblocks because the police had requested for their help. Matemadanda refused to explain the reason why the police had requested the army for security reasons. Responding to a question in Parliament, Matemadanda said,

…The police asked for help from the soldiers and this is found in the Constitution of our country that we wrote together as a nation. Every country has its own security system and information on the threats to nation is divulged to the top officials only and not everyone else.
