Trevor Ncube's AMH Increases Prices For Newspapers By 100 Percent

Alpha Media Holdings (AMH), the publisher of NewsDay, The Standard, and The Zimbabwe Independent has doubled the prices of its print newspapers. AMH which is owned by publisher Trevor Ncube has blamed market speculation and product scarcity for this increase. In a notice, the company said,

TO Our Valued Readers

We take pride in bringing you world-class, cutting-edge content through the newspapers you have come to love: NewsDay which incorporates the SouthernEye, theZimbabwe independent and The Standard.

We note with concern the recent developments that have fuelled market speculation, product scarcity and resulted in general cost increases. Unfortunately, we have not been spared from these market forces, and hence we have had to adjust the cover charge of each of our publications accordingly.
