Harare Magistrate Rumbidzai Mugwagwa convicted and sentenced Bernard Nzvere (37), of Goromonzi to a year in prison after he pleaded guilty of violating the Firearms Act. Nzvere was found in possession of the Taurus pistol which was used to kill David Tapambgwa, the son of Stanbic bank chief executive Joshua Tapambgwa during an armed robbery in July.
Nzvere together with his accomplices Farai Chikadzi and Everisto Chirimuuta are still to be tried on charges of robbery and murder. Two other accomplices are still at large.
