Chamisa Not Answer To Current Economic Challenges: ED Spokesperson

President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s spokesperson George Charamba told The Herald that MDC Alliance leader Nelson Chamisa is not the answer to Zimbabwe’s current economic challenges.

He said only principles of good economics being followed by the Zanu-PF Government will transform Zimbabwe’s economy. Said Charamba:

I pity Chamisa because he is being invested with Messianic powers which he doesn’t wield. At one level, he is supposed to be conferring legitimacy to the winner of 2018 elections, now I notice he is supposed to be the panacea to spurring the economy. This one young politician with a mortal life being invested with all these powers — God help us. He is a mere man and an erring man like all mortals. The economy of this country will be turned around by the hands of the citizens of this nation. There is no magic wand, there is no Messiah, only principles of good economics and these are what are being followed by the Government. There is a very clear strategy enunciated in the Monetary Policy, buttressed by the Fiscal Policy and all both expressing themselves in the context of a Transitional Plan. Those are the instruments for spurring the economy forward, not a mere individual.

  1. Why drag Chamisa into your mess. You rigged the elections in order to remain in power and so you should know what to do. You have to be careful not to mortgage the country to the Chinese through unsustainable debt levels like Zambia which is now a Chinese colony. Have reforms and get economic assistance but because you are allergic to the rule of law, free and fair elections. Please leave Chamisa, these problems are of your own making.

  2. There is no way Chamisa can be left out when he cunningly claims that he can solve the same problems by mere talk& in a way only hiding by behind the finger, when all see that he is the one behind, working with the manufacturers, bankers, retailers & other large economic players of our country who hold this economy in their hands, sabotaging the incumbent in reaction to july election results. While Mnangagwa fights to engage with the international community for the benefit of this nation Chamisa & team are on the other side dissuading the international community perpetuate the suffering of the masses in sacrifice only for his want of him getting the presidency of this country-which is completely unfortunate politics
