A Chitungwiza man, aged 25 was yesterday found guilty of criminal insult for retweeting a message from a ghost account named after Zimbabwe Electoral Commission chairperson Justice Priscilla Chigumba.
Night Tawona Shadaya who hails from Zengeza pleaded guilty to the charges when he appeared before Harare Magistrate Rumbidzai Mugwagwa.
It is the state’s case that in August this year an unidentified person created a twitter account in the name of Justice Chigumba. The Unknown culprit tweeted a message which read:
I can’t wait for the elections fiasco to come to an end.
I could do with a holiday and some good sex
Shadaya retweeted the message and deleted it the following morning.
