Paradzai Zimondi Calls On Private Sector To Join Hands With government In Mobilising Resources

The Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services (ZPCS) Commissioner General Retired Major General Paradzai Zimondi has called on the private sector to join hands with government in mobilising resources to transform the country’s prisons to match world standards.

The prison facilities are not places for punishment but institutions, where inmates convicted by the courts will be accommodated and rehabilitated, said Commissioner General Zimondi who called for increased partnership towards transforming the prison facilities to match international standards.

Said Zimhondi:

Water is a human right for every person whether in jail or not, so we thank to gesture by the Grant Thornton company to provide clean water to our inmates, we have been to China and we learnt a lot that prisons should be a place which provide decent life to inmates, so I call for other stakeholders to emulate this company to ensure that prison becomes a better place especially in the face of cholera which the country is seized with.
