Video: President Mnangagwa Addressees The United Nations General Assembly

In his Maiden speech at the UNGA, President Mnangagwa spoke of the importance of pursuing the Sustainable Development Goals in the context of ending all forms of poverty. He called on all member states to put hands on deck for the SDGs to be attainable. He also spoke of food security and gave an appraisal of the Command Agriculture programme in Zimbabwe.

He called for peace, security, stability and respect of divergent views among people and nations

President Mnangagwa also touched on the post-election violence that claimed six lives and said that it is a regrettable event. He used the opportunity to inform the assembly of his government’s setting up of a commission to look into the post-election shootings.
