City Of Harare Says Treatment Of Cholera, Typhoid Is Free At Its Institutions

The Harare City Council has said that the treatment of cholera, typhoid and other diarrhoeal diseases is being provided at no cost at all city health institutions. The city of Harare also said that it is adequately resourced to deal with cholera, contrary to some social media reports that there is no medication. In a statement on social media, the City of Harare said,

All Harare City Council health institutions are well equipped to deal with any suspected cholera cases. Treatment for cholera, typhoid and diarrhoea is free.

The Ministry of Health has declared the current Cholera outbreak in the greater Harare area,  a state of emergency after 20 people are reported to have died from the disease.
