Zesa Says Minimum Purchase Of $10 Only Applies When Using Ecocash, You Can Still Buy $2 Tokens Elsewhere

The Zimbabwe Electricity Supply Authority (Zesa) has said that prepaid electricity tokens less than $10 are still available on all other platforms except for Ecocash. This comes after EcoCash on Wednesday, announced that prepaid electricity tokens would now be starting at a minimum of $10.  Zesa said that the minimum of $10 for tokens only applies to users purchasing their prepaid tokens via Ecocash due to the high volumes of transactions on EcoCash. Speaking to state media, Zesa Holdings public relations manager Mr Fullard Gwasira said,

We have not increased from $2 to $10 for the rest of the transactions, it is only for EcoCash. We had long queues as a result of system challenges due to congestion. We are currently installing new servers and we hope to return the situation to normalcy in due course.
