Deputy Headmaster Hangs Himself Over Missing Funds

The deputy headmaster at Gumbonzvanda High School in Mashonaland East, Lancelot Zinzombe (50), reportedly committed suicide following a heated dispute over missing funds. A recent audit had revealed that $90 000 was missing. Zinzombe’s body was later founding hanging from a tree near his homestead.

Mashonaland East provincial police spokesperson Inspector Tendai Mwanza confirmed the incident saying,

Police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a senior teacher at Gumbonzvanda High School. I confirm receiving such a report, however, I have no finer details surrounding the case at the moment.

A post-mortem is yet to be carried out.
