In an interview with NewsDay, MDC Alliance principal Tendai Biti urged President Emmerson Mnangagwa to approach his rival Nelson Chamisa for dialogue to resolve Zimbabwe’s economic crisis.
Biti said Chamisa holds the keys Zimbabwe’s economic recovery. He dismissed the formation of a Government of National Unity (GNU) but said Mnangagwa must resolve the issue of militarisation of the State and inclusivity. Said Biti:
I hope wisdom can prevail, this country needs a dialogue, and Emmerson has to talk to Chamisa because Nelson holds the keys and that is fact. We are not talking about the government of national unity its nothing close to that, they must be discussions around the issues on legitimacy, there has to be discussions about state departure on militarization issue, issues on national healing reconciliation and inclusivity because we hold the keys we simply hold the keys. Emmerson must find it in his wisdom to talk to Chamisa because Nelson holds the key.
However, Zanu-PF MP and former Justice minister Ziyambi Ziyambi dismissed Biti’s claims saying Zanu-PF can run the economy without support from the opposition.

Kana ari iye ane ma keys sei asina kuwana maVotes akawanda seana ED saka kuda kuzvifadza nenhema. kana achida vanhu vacho let he unlock pacho pakakiyiwa vanhu vagarike kwete kungowukura
Ed has the master key given to him by the majority of the electorate, he has the mandate of the people, his door and arms are open for Chamisa to only accept and embrace each other and move on as brothers, thus the spirit we are vying for.
mazanu makatsva mafuse .ED and his partisan judges stole the election
Chamisa holds the key to the economy but for more than a decade he failed to unlock the economy of a small community Kuwadzana in Harare, the library he started long ago is still not completed.
Let him lock his followers out of whatever room and let us see how many will stand by him days after tomorrow. i think if he has the keys – the room is not existent, it is a spaghetti house.
Those utterances only show that without a doubt doubt Chamisa and his lot are sore losers the worst kind may God have mercy on them open up their minds and give them the energy to move on may God give them grace and the good will to bless Zimbabwe their country and community
