In a statement, the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) said its Chief Executive Officer Mr Patrick Mavhura does not have a twitter handle @MavhuraPatrick.
The state broadcaster also dismissed the appointment of opposition politician James Maridadi as its new head of radio services saying that it does not issue staff appointments via social media. The statements reads:
As a corporation that values the ethics that govern the media and broadcasting sector, we condemn in the strongest sense such behaviour and we will be taking the necessary steps to establish the motive behind such actions.
ZBC also apologised for any inconveniences that may have been caused to the target persons in these notices and to its stakeholders.
