Botswana Gvt Advises Citizens It Will Be Carrying Out Voter Registration In Harare And Bulawayo

The government of Botswana has advised all its citizens who are resident in Zimbabwe that it will be carrying out voter registration exercises in Harare and in Bulawayo for next year’s elections. We publish the notice in full below:

REPUBLIC OF BOTSWANA ANNOUNCEMENT

Notice is hereby given that the Government of the Republic of Botswana, through Independent Electoral Commission (IEC), will conduct Voter Registration for the 2019 Botswana General Elections to all eligible Batswana from the 3rd September 2018 to 11th November 2018.

Please note that voter registration is open to all citizens of Botswana in possession of a valid National Identity Card (Omang) and who have attained the age of eighteen (18) years during the time of registration;

All eligible Batswana are advised to note that voter registration will take place at two (2) different polling stations, one in Harare and the other in Bulawayo.

Voter Registration in Harare will take place during weekdays between 3rd September and 11th November 2018 from 08:00hrs to 16:30hrs at the Embassy of the Republic of Botswana in Zimbabwe located at 22 Philips Avenue, Belgravia.

Voter registration in Bulawayo will take place during weekends between 3rd September and 11th November 2018 from 09:00hrs – 12:00hrs and 14:00hrs – 17:00hrs on Saturdays, and from 09:00hrs – 12:00hrs on Sundays at Bulawayo Rainbow Hotel (Corner 10th Avenue, Josiah Tongogara Street).
