Shoko has been charged with criminal nuisance for allegedly posting some offensive statements on Facebook against President Emmerson Mnangagwa. Shoko allegedly posted,

At one time he beat up his own biological mother, he was later suspected for killing his own family head-boy. He was pinpointed for being the brains behind Ndebele 1980s scum. His name is generally associated with evil and devilish deeds. Today he is pleading for ur vote. WHAT A SHAME!!!!!!!!

According to the ZRP Shoko’s statements were likely to create a nuisance and were likely to interfere with the ordinary comfort, peace or quietness of the public. Shoko was also charged with assault for allegedly assaulting Energy Mutodi, a ZANU PF member on 25 August 2017 at Holiday Inn Hotel in Harare.  Shoko is being represented by Moses Nkomo of Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights (ZLHR).

  1. vangani vanhu vanotukwa, mutemo wechinyika chedu haubatsire, ini ndakatukwa wani by many people, no1 has ever been arrested for that, if i go to nreport it ndotosekwa, our shit country laws asingashande kana ka1

  2. Kutukwa and accusing someone of hitting their mother and murdering their headboy requires someone to prove it. Imagine if someone accuses you of abusing your family, won’t you report to the police. Freedom allows you to accuse wrong policies not abusing freedom of speech that way. Ndibharanzi
