National Events Are Not Party Events, They Must Not Be Exclusionary - Temba Mliswa

Temba Mliswa who retained the Norton seat in the parliamentary elections as an independent has called for Zanu-PF to separate national events from party events. Mliswa made the remarks after being “excluded” when he attended last week’s Heroes Day commemorations.

Said Mliswa,

Is this the new dispensation? Let’s learn to separate national events from party events and accommodate each other. ZANU PF leaders seated whilst an independent is ostracised…We can’t bring progress and togetherness as long as national events are exclusionary and that’s why the opposition has refused to be part of national events since they are held as party functions.
