Morgen Komichi Arrested For Interrupting Elections Proceedings

MDC-T national chairman Morgen Komichi has been charged with contravening section 186 of the Electoral Act for allegedly interrupting the 2018 harmonised election proceedings. Komichi attempted to preempt Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (Zec) chairperson Priscilla Chigumba’s announcement of the presidential results in the early hours of the 3rd of August. Komichi faces a year in prison if he is convicted of the crime.

Komichi is being represented by Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights (ZLHR).
