MDC Alliance politician Blessing Chebundo has challenged the results of the Kwekwe Central parliamentary elections. Chebundo who is famous for defeating President Emmerson Mnangagwa twice in parliamentary elections is contesting the outcome after the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (Zec) declared Masango Matambanadzo, also known as Blackman, of the National Patriotic Front (NPF) the winner with 7 578 votes. Chebundo had 7122 votes. Speaking to New Zimbabwe, Chebundo said,
It is true we have filed a court application to challenge the Kwekwe Central Parliamentary election results.

Matambanadzo’s aide, Angela Nyati said,
We are yet to receive any court challenge from Chebundo. If it is the truth that such a challenge exists we are however not surprised because he once did it in 2013.
