EU, US Govt Policies Should Not Change Until Chiwenga Is Removed: UK MP

United Kingdom legislator Katey Hoey has urged her government, the European Union (EU) and the United States government not to change its policies towards Zimbabwe until Retired General Constantino Chiwenga is removed from his Vice Presidency and his position as Defence Minister.

Speaking on Twitter, Hoey who is Member of Parliament for Vauxhall said:

There should be no change to or or American government policies to Zimbabwe government until at the very minimum Chiwenga is removed from his Vice Presidency and his control of the military.

Hoey visited Zimbabwe between May 31 and June 4 this year. Her comments come after soldiers opened fire on unarmed civilians during an anti-Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) protest. Six people have died from the incident.

  1. These envoys when here in Zimbabwe they report very well about us but when they return back to their countries start portraying a very bad image about Zimbabwe wogoshaiwa kuti zvinombofamba sei

  2. As much as we want sanctions to be removed, it does not mean that we should be told on who to elect as the vice president. We are still a nation and not a province of USA.

  3. pamberi ne ma sanctions kusvika masoja aita zvaakaita kuna bob last yr atibetsere zvakare kubvisa mnangagwa…..dai akasapedza term chiwenga anoda assasination
