“They Pretend Army Killed Civilians, Forgetting That Vehicles Were Burned” : Minister Mukupe


Deputy Minister of Finance and Economic Development, Terrence Mukupe has claimed that people are pretending that the army killed civilians. Mukupe was referring to the death of three civilians who were gunned down after the army deployed soldiers into the Harare city centre to put down opposition supporters who were protesting alleged election rigging by the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (Zec). Mukupe, who has been involved in a number of several controversial issues wrote on Twitter,

On Wednesday night, Mukupe had warned that law enforcement officials would not let people get away with burning Zanu-PF’s vehicles. Said Mukupe,

You burn our vehicles at Zanu PF Harare Province offices and you think the law enforcement agents will fold their hands!!!

Reward being offered for the whereabouts of Tendai Biti. Justice awaits him!!!!


On Wednesday night, Zanu-PF’s representative in The United Kingdom and Europe, Nick Mangwana also sensationally claimed that all the images of the “fatally wounded” people were fake news as the images had been doctored. However, he deleted the tweet later and retracted his initial claim saying,

It has been confirmed that one person has died during today’s incident. We apologise for an earlier tweet that said something to the contrary.

    if we compensate your burnt cars will u raise that woman who was killed

  2. Mukupe is just an air if he is a rubbish it will going to be better coz we can take that rubbish and make composit, how could u compare cars and civilians if you are minister of the people.
