Former Presidential spokesperson to both Morgan Tsvangirai and Nelson Chamisa, Luke Tamborinyoka has lost the Goromonzi West national assembly elections. The seat was won by Energy Mutodi of Zanu-PF after the opposition fielded two candidates, both representing the MDC Alliance. The two opposition candidates together polled more than 16 000 votes which were split between them. Mutodi managed to win the seat with 12 942 votes. Clifford Nyamburo who was representing the MDC Alliance polled 10 105 votes while TYamborinyoka also representing the MDC Alliance came third with 5964 votes.
