Former president Robert Mugabe was met with wild celebrations when he came to cast his votes at Mugabe Primary School in Highfield. Mugabe who was accompanied by his wife former first lady Grace Mugabe and daughter Bona Mugabe Chikore was mobbed by people who were chanting “Gushungo Gushungo” (his totem) and “Our father.” The mob also cheered on former first lady Grace Mugabe and called on her to take care of Mugabe. Despite his ignominious exit in November, Mugabe seems to still have some support.
Mugabe seemed to take some time in the ballot booth and was assisted to vote by his daughter, Bona Mugabe-Chikore.
