Acting Prosecutor General Mr Kumbirai Hodzi has directed the police to immediately take businessman Wicknell Chivayo to court on allegations of defrauding Zimbabwe Power Company of $5,6 million.
Hodzi said investigations into Chivayo’s matter were now complete and he will appear in court soon. A statement from the National Prosecuting Authority reads:
The Acting Prosecutor General having considered criminal dockets pertaining to one Wicknell Chivayo has directed the police to bring him to court for a formal court appearance at Harare Magistrates Court immediately.
ZPC gave Chivayo a tender to construct the $200 million Gwanda Solar Project. Chivayo received $5,6 million for pre-commencement work without an advance payment bank guarantee.
