It Took Israelites 40 Years To Reach Canaan, Zim Left With 2 Years: Oppah Muchinguri

Speaking at the star rally addressed by President Mnangagwa in Mutare last week, Zanu-PF national chairperson Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri said Mnangagwa will revive Zimbabwe.

Muchinguri also assured Mnangagwa of a victory in Manicaland Province in Monday’s elections. Said Muchinguri:

Zimbabwe is like the biblical Egypt. It took the Israelites 40 years to reach the Promised Land of Canaan. Zimbabwe has been on the journey to the Promised Land for 38 years now and there are only two years left for us to reach our Canaan. President Mnangagwa will take us from Egypt to Canaan.

  1. What a stupid, myopic thing for Oppah Muchinguri to say! 38 years in the wilderness? Has she forgotten that it all started with the First Chimurenga in 1896 – 122 years ago? Then Joshua Nkomo founded the National Democratic Party (NDP) in 1960 to start the final phase of the struggle. 20 years later in 1980 we thought we had arrived in Canaan, the land of milk and honey. But that was a false dawn, thanks to Robert Mugabe, Mnangagwa and other hijackers of our nation’s dreams.
We have been in the wilderness for a lot longer than 38 years.
Canaan MUST arrive after July 30 and this is only possible if Zimbabwean patriots inject new blood into the system by electing Chamisa and the MDC Alliance.
You cannot put new wine into old bottles, Hebrew scriptures tell us.
