Schoolboy Tinago Buried At Provincial Heroes Acre

Zimbabwean boxing legend Langton “Schoolboy” Tinago became Zimbabwe’s first sportsperson to be conferred with hero status for his sporting exploits. Tinago, who died last week was buried at the Midlands Provincial Heroes’ Acre in Gweru on Sunday.

 

Tinago was a three-time Commonwealth champion, who fought in the super feather, lightweight, light welterweight, welterweight divisions between 1967 and 1987. However, after he retired from boxing he struggled financially in his later years.
