The Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education, Science and Technology Development has relaunched the Science,Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) programme, which will also include the training of teachers in the fields of Science and Mathematics.
In an interview with Star FM News at the official launch of the science and mathematics secondary teachers training programme in Gweru, Higher and Tertiary Education Minister, Professor Amon Murwira said government is reintroducing stem which starts by training teachers in science and mathematics.
Professor Murwira said it is sensible to first train teachers before giving scholarships to students taking up science subjects at advanced level.
