Don’t Be Disillusioned, Military Will Respect Chamisa’s Victory: Tsvangirai’s Daughter To Supporters

 

Vimbai Tsvangirai Java, the daughter of the late MDC-T founder Morgan Tsvangirai, has called on opposition supporters to vote in their numbers to ensure that Nelson Chamisa is not denied victory in the July 30 elections. Java also reassured supporters that the Zimbabwe Defence Forces are going to honour Chamisa’s victory and allow him to take over from President Emmerson Mnangagwa. Vimbai, who is the MDC Alliance candidate for Glen View South told supporters,

Some seem disillusioned because they think this election is already rigged and the army will not hand over power. I am telling you the military has no choice but to hand over power once we win this election. Remember last November that the army marched with us (to demand former President Robert Mugabe’s removal). They know the power of the people; ZDF (Zimbabwe Defence Forces) is an institution and they will give us that power…Our leader Chamisa must win by more than 3 million votes. That way we will leave no one with any doubt of the people’s aspirations.
