MDC Alliance To Protest Against ZEC On Voters Roll And Ballot Paper Printing Issues

The MDC Alliance has said it will hold a demonstration on July 11 against the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) on issues to do with the Voters Roll and ballot papers printing.

The demonstration will be held from 10AM to 4PM. The demonstration will start at Africa Unity Square, proceed into Jaison Moyo Rd to ZEC Offices. From ZEC Offices the people will proceed into Samora Machel up to Forth Street then turn into Nelson Mandela back to Africa Unity Square for address. The convener is Mr Douglas Mwonzora.

MDC has already written a letter to the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) notifying the Officer Commanding Harare Central District. According to a letter written by MDC Chief of Staff Sesel Zvidzai the Nelson Chamisa led coalition will be demonstrating against ZEC for:

  1. Failing to provide a complete Biometric Voters Roll
  2. Failing to be fully transparent on the ballot printing process
