Bulawayo Explosion: Two Suspects Released Without Charge

The two Bulawayo men, Douglas Musekiwa and John Zulu who had been arrested after being alleged to have been behind the Bulawayo explosion at President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s rally, have been released without charges. The two had been initially detained on terrorism charges over the explosion which killed two people and injured well over 40 other people.

On Saturday, Bulawayo magistrate Gladmore Mushove issued a warrant for further detention to the police. However, the police had to charge the two men or to release them on Monday morning. The men were released after the police failed to prefer charges against them due to lack of evidence.

The Zimbabwe Independent also reported that the military arrested another suspect on the day of the explosion and that the suspect has not been seen since.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more details come in.

  1. i hope the person who did that gets arrested as soon as possible because we cannot live with people who have rotten minds…,look at what they did now

  2. munhu ngaatongwe nemabasa ake vanhu havafanhe kusuffer nenyaya yemunhu anongobva kwaabva hatina kumbobvira tasangana nezvakadaro MuZimbabwe …Zimbabwe yatinoziva is a peaceful Zmbabwe not ine vanhu who temper around with pipo’s lives

    1. it is necessary to apprehend the responsible person first. What this article tells me when read with other items in the same subject is that these guys were detained by the military, beaten up while in military custody but there was no evidence against them.in our law a person is innocent till proven otherwise .These guys were deprived of their basic human rights because they were arrested for investigations to take place instead of being arrested after investigations as is the norm in most modern societies.
The incident is tragic because lives and limbs were lost but never in the history of this country have we had a coup .My point is that this incident is a result of coup politics.

  3. i think this time around the pres is supposed to be extra secured nekuti if the person is still out there anogona kungodzoka futi
